I have heard that the keyholders at the time of the postal voting were Tony Forster and the Secretary. Can anyone confirm this? Is everybody happy about it?
I wonder who will be appointed Station Manager at the next committee meeting? Noting that Tony Forster was elected on to the committee, it would be unconstitutional for him to be Station Manager because the constitution clearly states that the Station Manager must be autonomous.
AGM yesterday evening.
President David Sanford maintained the traditional stiff upper lip most admirably with only the odd quiver or two while fielding a variety of hard hitting 'incomings' from upset members, such as the lawyer pointing out illegal unconstitutional things, dissatisfaction with the management report, dissatisfaction with his inability to do his job properly from 250km away, Moses' point of order regarding postal votes being unconstitutional and the consequences of illegal behavior -- and then David Sanford desperately attempted to hold a vote to accept the postal votes! The Station Manager's (Tony Forster) report met with various comments, 'self glorification' being most memorable. I was able to hone my Sudoku skills while David Shepherd regaled us with a lengthy recital about something, the point of which totally escaped me and most of the audience I'd imagine. And then to top it all off, a scrutineer who had spat the dummy and stalked out in a huff earlier in the meeting returned and expected to act as a scrutineer! Astonishingly, David Sanford won the election even though heavily outgunned by Moses who has a very impressive record of management experience and personal integrity. Yummy supper afterwards, enjoyed by both factions as they eyed eachother across the room. |
